Musician/ artist Michel Lambert is going on an European tour that is taking place from November 3rd to the 18th, 2004. The tour includes five European countries, six cities, starting in the south of France in Puget-ville, then going to London, Paris, Sofia, Budapest and Berlin."Out Twice" European tour is made possible with the support of Foreign Affairs Canada. Thursday November 4th, there will be a concert at la maison Bleu Boeuf in Puget-ville with legendary American bassist Barre Phillips and the creative french saxophonist Lionel Garcin.. This trio is one of two, appearing on Michel Lambert "Out Twice", released in May 2003 in co-production between the Chicago label 482 Music and Jazz from Rant. The three musicians are back from a tour of Ontario last September, visiting Guelph, Toronto and Ottawa. The journey was generously supported by the Canada Council. The next venue is Hugo's, in London, the 7th of November. To perform with Michel Lambert are some of London's finest jazz musicians, Bret Kean on saxophone, David Frankel on piano and Dave Jones on bass.

Two fabulous musicians, both Americans and long-time Parisians, will join the "Out Twice" adventure on November 10th at Les 7 Lézards, in Paris. Ex 1979 Berklee compatriot and long time friend, saxophonist Jon Handelsman will be there with late Steve Lacy's pianist of choice, the great Bobby Few. This will be an exceptional meeting.

In the series "double duets", one of Europe's foremost drummer, for decades already, Daniel Humair, will be meeting with Michel on November 9th. This project made possible with the help of both the Canada Council and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec involves five meetings with five unique drummers/visual artists. Each meeting produces a percussion duo and a visual art duo.

In Sofia, Bulgaria, activities include a workshop at the New Bulgarian University, Friday November 12th, 4pm - 6pm. This will be a great opportunity for Michel Lambert to share his concepts in creative music. There will also be a performance at Funky's Music Hall on the 11th with Bulgaria's best known jazz musician internationally, master pianist and composer Milcho Leviev. Lambert and Leviev met in 1983 in Los Angeles and worked together on a few occasions during the following years. A few years ago they appeared together on the cd "Les Trois Michel" with legendary Canadian bassist Michel Donato, a live concert recording at the Domaine Forget near Québec City. In 2002, they met again in Los Angeles with bassist John Giannelli for what became the second trio appearing on "Out Twice,"playing improvisations on sketches and drawings.

On the 14th of November, Michel Lambert brings some of Hungary's finest talents to the Jazz Gardens in Budapest, pianist Kalman Olah and bassist Jozef Barcza Horvath. This is a great opportunity for Michel to work with Kalman again since the release of AD2000, a cd recorded with guitarist Agostino Di Giorgio and bassist Ron Seguin a few years back.

The tour ends in Berlin on November 16th and 17th. Again in the "double duets" series, there will be a meeting with Sven Ake Johansson. He is a pioneer of free improvised music and an innovator in the arts in Europe, already in the 60's. Pianist Steven Reich will also be in Berlin for a music seance. He had organised a Black Fungus concert, the drum/vocal duo of Jeannette and Michel Lambert at the Berliner Jazztreff ‘87. Back on the 18th in Toronto, there is an immediate Canadian tour taking place with the Dave Young quartet.

Michel Lambert "Out Twice"- Europe is a very exciting project that complements a series of creative musical activities produced in 2004, both in Canada and abroad. The purpose of these activities is to promote new musical concepts and ideas, feed a growing a body of works both in performance and recording, generate new musical partnerships and renew on going fruitful artistic collaborations of several years with artists from Canada, North America and Europe.
