CD Reviews: Royce Campbell..Trio By Starlight..Philology 2006

Royce Campbell has assembled a fine trio that swings the changes to
familiar tunes quite nicely.
"Unforgettable April" Campbell says it all in his solo. Lightly referred
to quotes pass by the ear in a whisper. A cool boppish solo by Hod
O'Brien at the piano plus the strong bass accompaniment of Tom Baldwin
makes this a lively listen.
"Who's Got Rhythm" Again this trio parlays the changes to the familiar
'I've Got Rhythm" into an interesting new mode.
This album is a trip down Chord Progression lane and it's done in fine
style by a remarkable trio.
